I am trying to upgrade a VoIP appliance that has it's firmware running on a micro SD card. There's no screens or keyboards involved, it processes telephony signaling and voice.
I've picked up the instructions on how to upgrade the product, and this involves:
- fetching the .gho file on the ftp server which contains the new firmware version.
- now the instruction is to "ghost the image to the micro SD card" - of course, I've removed the 2 gig card from the appliance, availed myself with a microSD to SD converter and plugged the card into my windows 7 laptop.
I've obtained a trial version of the Ghost Suite 2.5 which we'll be happy to buy if it proves to do the job, but so far no cigar.
I've spent all day trawling through all manner of resources and reading bits of the help, but I can't figure out how to tell ghost to now pick up the gho file on my hard drive and restore it to the SD card (which must obviously be the same size as the one the gho image came from).
any help would be appreciated, starting with an overview of the task list ... what components to use in which order
