Dear Symantec,
Historically, we used to create Symantec CMDBs using SQL Server Management Studio, so that the database files would be created on the right disks and with the right size, with splits, etc and we used to just select the correct blank Symantec CMDB database and it installed correctly.
However, that is now changed. When installing SMP via the SIM with 7.5 and 7.6, if you select to use a blank database (as created with the above method, the SIM checks the database and says that it is not a valid database and that I need to create a new database and use that. Yes, I agree that it is not a valid database, but the problem is that the SIM SHOULD recognise that the database is BLANK and allow you to install into that database.
So, Symantec, can the SIM PLEASE install the Symantec_CMDB into a blank database again?
Kindest regards,
QuietLeni
