Default Group Getting Populated

Hello,

The default group seems to get populated with 100's of machines on a daily basis in our environment.  I move these machines out to their correct group and then it gets repopulated.  I know I can block default group from getting populated but my question is, what would be the consequence of doing so?  What will happen to machines that are trying to land in default group?  All of our installation packages do not point to the defualt group, so how are machines ending up in there?
