Hello,
Managing drivers in DS 7.5 is very difficult because it is tedious, and often impossible, to determine if the driver is in the database. Suggestions:
- change the contents of the name column to display the same name that appears in Device Manager in Windows. The current name appears nowhere in Windows so it's impossible to match them. The More Info button often displays the info.
- add column for Vendor ID, Device ID, Subsystem ID and Revision. These are clearly visible in most .inf files. Yes, you can see this info if you click on the 'More Info' button or by searching. If this is not possible, provide a report.
- when importing drivers, the popup should clearly display what steps it is taking .... as it is currently programmed, what it does is a mistery until the task ends. And when an import fails, it is difficult to determine why
- also when importing drivers ... indicate that the driver exists if an older version is already present in the database. Gives us the choice, just as it occurs when copying files into a folder in WIndows Explorer, to replace, copy and keep both, or cancel the import
- we often import a NIC driver that is missing. The driver works properly when installed manually on the PC from a USB, but fails to install via DeployAnywhere when the same driver is imported into the NS. Help us figure out the problem with a popup on the machine during the install, perhaps with an error
Thanks
