Grid changes and Timeout

We have a process that take up to about 10 min to run. We have modified the Web.config with the executiontimeout and set that high enough so the webpage it's self will not timeout but it seems the process in the background gives up as it just stops working at the 10 min mark (Roughly not sure on the exact time) Can we change a setting that will stop the process from timming out?

Also If we have a grid is there a way to change the row hight to help those selecting roms on an Ipad with larger fingers?
